Lodging will be available at the Sheraton Grand Hotel (right across the street; 1230 J Street) at a conference rate of $139 per night. For travelers on a budget, the Sacramento Youth Hostel is only a few blocks away, with dormitory beds from only $23 per night.
To reserve a room at the Sheraton Grand, follow this link: http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/res?id=0712104539&key=399C0 , or call 1-800-325-3535 for Sheraton reservations, ask to reserve a room at the “Sheraton Grand Sacramento”, and give the group discount code “OTO 2008”. The hotel’s general description and website can be found here: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1247 , but use the preceding link for reservations, in order to get the discount. Again, the Sheraton is right across the street from the Convention Center.
To reserve a bed at the Sacramento Youth Hostel, visit their website here: http://www.norcalhostels.org/sac/ . You can reserve space online, or call 916-443-1691. The Youth Hostel is located at 925 H Street, a seven block walk from the Convention Center. Dormitory beds start at $23 per night, and there are a limited number of private rooms available from $42 per night. Bathrooms are shared. We have not arranged a group discount rate here, since the rates are already quite affordable. I will also add that the Youth Hostel is only a four block walk away from the Sacramento Amtrak Station, for those of you desiring the full low-carbon-footprint experience. Note: The hostel has an automatic locking door that locks down at 11 pm every night and does not open until 7:30 in the morning. However, there is a night entrance that guests may use should they stay out later than 11 pm. The guest will receive the night’s password upon check in.
There are many other hotel possibilities in the area, including an Econolodge and a Motel 6.
